On Sunday, March 29, the stage at the Alley Theatre at the Burt Wood School for the Performing Arts transformed into more than just a runway. It became a platform for purpose, passion, and powerful community impact as Miss Southeastern Massachusetts, Ashley Clark, hosted a one-of-a-kind sustainable fashion show in support of her Community Service Initiative, Your Vote, Your Legacy.

Blending creativity with civic engagement, the event brought together local designers and community leaders for an afternoon that celebrated both eco-conscious fashion and the importance of voter participation. Guests were treated to a thoughtfully curated show where each piece told a story not only of sustainability, but of the future we help shape through our voices and our votes.

Ashley’s initiative, Your Vote, Your Legacy, focuses on empowering individuals through civic education and engagement. From organizing informational rallies with the MLK Jr. Planning Committee to hosting voter drives and creating accessible resources, Ashley is committed to ensuring that every community member feels informed, confident, and inspired to participate in the democratic process. More information about her initiative can be found on her website.

The fashion show itself beautifully reflected this mission. Designers showcased upcycled and sustainably made garments, proving that fashion can be both innovative and environmentally responsible. As models walked the runway, local leaders joined them, sharing meaningful messages about the lasting impact of voting and civic involvement.

The designer lineup featured a diverse and talented group of creatives, each bringing their own vision to life:

  • Jaime St. Onge, The Be.You.Tiful Campaign

  • Cali Persechino, "Price Tag" Old Shreads New Threads

  • Bruno DiMeco, bruhnnoli

  • Emily Moniz

  • Tori Johnson Design, Accumulate

  • Aleta May Deyo, Mini collection

  • Maura Deardra of Dreadingdeardra, State St to Wonderland

  • Ashley Clark, Your Voice, Your Legacy

Each collection added a unique perspective to the show, highlighting the power of sustainability while supporting local artistry.

At just 24 years old, Ashley Clark is already making a remarkable impact. Currently holding the titles of Miss Southeastern Massachusetts 2026 and Miss New Bedford 2025, she is an elementary dance teacher who brings energy, creativity, and mentorship to her students, including those at the very school she once attended. Her passion for helping others extends beyond the classroom, as she continues her studies with the goal of earning a Master’s degree in Psychology.

Ashley’s ability to merge her love for community, education, and advocacy was on full display throughout this event. By connecting sustainable fashion with civic responsibility, she created an experience that was both inspiring and empowering for all who attended.

This June, Ashley will take the next step in her journey as she represents Southeastern Massachusetts at the Miss Massachusetts Scholarship Competition. If this event is any indication, she will continue to use her platform to spark meaningful conversations and create lasting change.
