Former Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel is officially returning to television as a contestant on the upcoming 22nd season of the fashion competition series, Project Runway.
Gabriel, who won the Miss Texas USA, Miss USA, and Miss Universe titles in 2022, is one of 22 designers selected for the new cycle. This group represents the largest initial roster of contestants in the history of the franchise.

Professional Design Background
While known globally for her pageantry achievements, Gabriel holds a formal background in apparel design. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design with a minor in fibers. Prior to her pageantry career, she launched her independent, eco-friendly clothing label, R'Bonney Nola, which focuses on sustainable design practices and upcycled materials. Additionally, she has worked as a sewing instructor for non-profit organizations supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
Gabriel addressed the casting announcement on social media, noting her long-term connection to the craft.
"From 16 years of sewing, and sooo many hours of watching Project Runway, I thought it was time to enter the workroom. Design has been my passion since I was young, and it's a dream come true to join this season."
