The Miss Massachusetts Competition is just around the corner, and one of the inspiring young women taking the stage is Khailah Griffin, Miss Cambridge. With a platform rooted in advocacy, action, and compassion, Khailah is using her voice to tackle an issue close to her heart: housing insecurity.

Khailah’s initiative, The Purple Blueprint, was born from her commitment to healthcare equity and a desire to address the growing housing crisis. In cities like Cambridge, the need for accessible housing support is more urgent than ever. The Purple Blueprint aims to educate, lead, and inspire through tangible community action. From launching fundraising campaigns to volunteering in local shelters, Khailah is not only raising awareness but creating real change. Her current goal is to raise $5,000 for local shelters by the end of the year.
As Miss Cambridge, Khailah has worked with organizations like Horizons for Homeless Children, where she volunteers weekly. She has participated in events like the Winter Walk for Homelessness, hosted family-friendly events like Princess and Prince Day at the Cambridge Arts Center, and connected with leaders and changemakers across Massachusetts. Highlights of her year include:
Volunteering weekly with Horizons for Homeless Children
Participating in the Winter Walk for Homelessness
Serving as a guest for Cambridge's Office of Tourism
Appearing on Boston University’s LivewithTY
Reading to kindergarteners at King Open Elementary School
Attending the Massachusetts State House twice for healthcare advocacy
Being honored with the Black Excellence on the Hill Award, presented by State Representative Worrell
Participating in the Somerville Memorial Day Parade and Mayor Wu’s Women’s Summit
Meeting with the CEO of Horizons for Homeless Children to discuss community engagement strategies

Looking ahead, Khailah hopes to expand The Purple Blueprint on a national scale by installing 100 QR-based donation stations across Massachusetts, providing an easy and secure way for residents to donate to shelters and service organizations. She also plans to launch a Miss Massachusetts empowerment campaign, speaking at high schools across the state to inspire youth to embrace their potential.
Khailah is most excited to share this experience with other phenomenal women from across the Commonwealth who are passionate about making a difference. She’s also looking forward to showcasing her musical talent on piano and using her time on stage to share her mission and story. For Khailah, this competition is not just a performance. It’s a powerful opportunity for growth, connection, and purpose.
You can cheer Khailah on at the Miss Massachusetts 2025 Competition at The Hanover Theatre in Worcester.
